After about a year or so, JohnSmith (the original author) decided to no longer update the pack, the pack was too good to just let it die so the community took over and John Smith Legacy was born, I joined the project in the beginning but slowly as all the others went onto the sickly sweet modded game and the millions of textures needed for that. The John Smith Legacy pack is therefore perfect for making realistic looking fortresses, castles and other constructs, as well as anything else which is supposed to look dated when it is done. This resource pack looks great on buildings partially because of the 32×32 definition and because it's a great pack. Wood looks dirty and the various stone blocks, even those like chiseled stone bricks, look worn and old, as if made smooth by a steady trickle of water or something similar. Objects look a bit darker with the John Smith Legacy pack, and that includes pretty much everything in the game. Those little white numbers are plain to read against the new backgrounds. While trees still look about the same as usual, everything else from the dirt to the grass growing on it gets a facelift from John Smith Legacy even the GUI gets an update, which is nice, because it makes the inventory, chests and crafting windows much easier on the eyes. No modifications to the connected glass required. The John Smith Legacy resource pack is basically a purely cosmetic pack that updates the look of many blocks, items and creatures found in Minecraft. The John Smith Legacy Texture Pack is also one of the few resource packs with expanded window images.
